VCT 4 - Tournament Structure

                   Clash of Clans

With immense pleasure, we present to you a fresh new format of our favorite chess tournament. There will be no pressure to climb up the ladder to become the champion this time. Instead this edition demands collaboration between VCT members to grab the pride of the best Clan of VCT. Also VCT 4 will give you ample opportunities to learn new tricks and tips from higher rated players in your Clan or even from other Clans. So without further ado, let's see what these clans are - 

VCT4 Auction :

In the VCT 4 Auction (scheduled on 20th of March), the Clan Leaders will each have 150 points with them to bid for the players. Each Clan leaders will have to complete their Clans with - 

• 2 players from List 3
• 2 players from List 2
• 1 player from List 1 

So the Base Points for each clan is 90 (= 2 * 10 + 2 * 20  + 30).  The list of players in VCT 4 with their Base Points are given below. The players are categorized in List 1, List 2 and List 3 based on multiple factors like current rating on chess.com, performances in previous editions of VCT and also current form as monitored by our Coordinators.

Post Auction, the Clan Leaders will rank the players of their clans from 1 - 6, and matches will be played between the players in the below format. Players from each Clan will play with players from other Clans of similar Tier. Points rewarded for each match - 

• Win - 2 points
• Draw - 1 point
• Loss - 0 point

At the end of Gameweek 6, the Clan with the most points will win. In case if two or more Clans end up with same points, Tie breaker matches will be played! Please check the VCT4 Rules for more details.
